FARMINGTON — Two southern Maine men were indicted Thursday on charges that they broke into two local businesses in June 2010.

Police say the two stole money from Pizza Hut in Farmington and cash and cigarettes from Madore’s Market in West Farmington.

Timothy Dallentash, 43, of Portland was indicted on two counts each of felony burglary and felony theft. A conviction on each of those charges carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Michael Warner II, 32, of Freeport was indicted on two counts of burglary and two counts of theft, according to the report of the Franklin County grand jury. A conviction on those charges carries up to five years in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.

The men are accused of forcefully entering the Pizza Hut on Wilton Road between 10 p.m. Sunday, June 6, and 7:30 a.m. Monday, June 7, and stealing a “fairly large safe” and an undisclosed amount of cash, Farmington police have said.

The men are accused also of breaking into Madore’s Market on Temple Road through a window between 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, and 4 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes and between $60 and $80 in $2 bills, police said.

From the beginning, police said they were considering a connection between the two burglaries.

Dallentash and Warner are expected to appear in Franklin County Superior Court in Farmington on June 24.
