LEWISTON — Community members are invited to indulge in some spring fever at a spirited French sing-along session scheduled from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College, 51 Westminster St.

Aliette Couturier will lead attendees in singing a selection of local Franco favorites, with musical accompaniment provided by accordionist Irene Coady and pianist Jeannette Gregoire. Song books will be provided.

This event will serve as a “warm up” for a matinee concert by popular Franco-American folk singer Josee Vachon which is planned for Sunday, May 22, at USM LAC.

Both programs are sponsored by the college’s Franco-American Collection, and are offered to the public free of charge. More information is available by calling the Franco-American Collection office at 753-6545.
