LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free Touch Drawing workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. The six-part series will take place Thursdays, May 12 through June 23, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at CMMC, 60 High St., in the Cardiac Rehab Education Room.

Using a variety of basic visual art media, formats and approaches, including the playful yet profound process of Touch Drawing, presenter Helen Warren will teach the practice of visual journaling as a sacred space in which to draw from and reflect on experience. The goal is the establishment of a personal practice that participants can continue to use on their own for reflection, nourishment and healing. No experience necessary.

Warren is an artist, art educator and healer who brings over 40 years experience to her facilitation.

Participation is limited to 12. Pre-registration is available by calling the Dempsey Center at 795-8250, toll-free 1-877-336-7287 or online at www.dempseycenter.org.
