Lewiston police are warning motorists to pay heed to those temporary “no parking” signs being set up along streets around town — or risk having their vehicles towed away.
The temporary no parking signs are being put up by the Public Works Department to allow for curb-to-curb street cleaning, said Police Lt. Gerard Baril.
Baril said city ordinance requires that the signs be set up four hours before cars can be towed. He said on Tuesday night police also drove through the streets using loudspeakers to warn people to move their cars.
