The Jesus Party Pentecostal Kids Church will be holding a special “Proud To Be An American” night for children. The event was put together as a response to the United States Military recent victory over the # 1 most wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden. The evening will feature Patriotic music, “Your A Grand’ Ole Flag”, “Battle Hymn of the Republic”, “God Bless America” and “America The Beautiful.” Ministry director, Sonia Taylor will sing a special song by Lee Greenwood, “God bless the U.S.A “. Children will view an age appropriate video ( 23 minute film ) titled ” Remembering September 11 “. The film is produced by Schlessinger Media and was created with a child psychologist to ensure its appropriateness for this audience. The film explores the tragic events of September 11, 2001 as well as the inspiring and heroic tributes that followed. Children will hear real stories of real heroes and will listen to the thoughts and feelings of other young children. The ministry of the Jesus Party has played this film every September for the last decade as a memorial and thought it would be fitting to show again at this significant time in history. Patriotic mentor, Jerry DerBoghosian, will lead the children in the “Pledge of Allegiance,” and will distribute military soldier action figures as a reminder to keep our troops in their prayers. Red, white and blue cupcakes will be served and G.I.Joe dolls will be given as door prizes. For more information contact the urban youth outreach by calling 786-5568.
