MECHANIC FALLS — A roast beef supper and and a talk by Bill Green highlight May’s activities sponsored by the Mechanic Falls Historical Society.
The society is holding its “Almost Famous Roast Beef Community Supper” from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7. Price for the meal is $7 and $5 for children 12 and under. The Historical Society thanks the assistance from Future Foods and Harvest Hill Farms for this ongoing event.
WCSH television personality Bill Green will give a talk regarding Maine in the Civil War, including Joshua Chamberlain’s career both on and off the battle field, at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19. Green will hold a question and answer session following his talk. There is no admission charge to the lecture but donations to the society will be welcomed.
The Historical Society will also hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, so visitors can view some of the town’s historical artifacts and articles.
All events will be held at the Historical Society, The former First Congregational Church, 64 Elm St. For further information, call 345-3134.
