MEXICO — The race for two positions on the Board of Selectmen promises to be interesting this year with five men, including several former selectmen, vying for one of the seats.

Returning nomination papers by Friday’s deadline were former Selectman Arthur Bordeau; former Selectman George Byam; Randy Campbell, a current member of the Region 9 School of Applied Technology Cooperative Board; former Selectman James McDonald; and Selectman Peter Merrill.

Board Chairwoman Barbara Laramee chose not to seek an additional three-year term.

Running for a sixth three-year term as town clerk is Penny Duguay. No one is challenging her.

Voting for candidates, the municipal budget and the Western Foothills Regional School Unit 10 budget is set from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 14 in the basement of the town office.
