LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating the theft of a pocketbook Wednesday from an apartment on Main Street, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Thursday.
It is the second time a purse has been stolen since March 17, Steward said.
A senior citizen reported a “young gentleman” came to her door and asked for a glass of water at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, he said. About 15 to 20 minutes later, the woman realized her pocketbook was missing, he said.
The man was described as having blond hair with a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt and between 18 and 19 years old, Steward said.
On March 17, a woman’s purse was reported stolen from a car as volunteers were loading daffodils for Daffodil Days at the Eaton Memorial United Methodist Church on Knapp and Church streets, he said.
A volunteer saw a man described as between 18 to 20 years old with blond hair running from the area, Steward said.
