LIVERMORE FALLS — A local man was arrested Sunday night after a business, security alarm went off twice at Food City on Main Street.
Police officers Steve Allen and Adam Sage responded the first time the alarm went off and did a check of the building and found nothing out of the ordinary, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Monday.
They were waiting in the parking lot for a key holder to show up, and asked the security company to reset the alarm.
While they were waiting, a second business alarm went off, Steward said.
They went out back to check where the alarm was coming from again, and they found Jason H. Pierce, 31, of Millett Street, Livermore Falls standing there. He had two stolen 12 packs of alcohol with him, Steward said. One was Budweiser beer and the other was Twisted Tea, he said.
Pierce was arrested on charges of burglary, theft and violation of condition of release, Steward said.
Entry to the building is still under investigation.
“Pierce was too intoxicated for (officers) to have a reasonable conversation with him,” he said.
Pierce was arrested in November on the roof of the Bank Building on Main Street on charges of criminal mischief and criminal trespass. After the damage that was done on the roof was calculated, including to the town tower clock and destruction of dish antennas, the criminal mischief charge was elevated to an aggravated charge.
