I studied European and world history a while ago, but I remember that removing artwork that did not support the agenda of the government was a tactic used by some of the world’s worst dictators.

I wonder if Gov. Paul LePage planned his order to remove the Labor Department mural to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire for publicity purposes, or if he was just ignorant of or insensitive to the occasion.
