WINTHROP — Evan Merrill Arbour has been named Winthrop High School’s Maine Principal’s Award winner for the class of 2011. He is the son of Lynne Grivois and Michael Arbour.

During his four years at Winthrop High School, Arbour has maintained an outstanding scholastic record and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Arbour has played tennis and soccer and was named captain in both sports. He is a member of the Art Club and is vice president of the Drama Club. He participated in the regional and State Drama Festival 2008-2011 and was named an All-Cast Member in 2009 and 2010.

He is a member of the Theatre at Monmouth and the Kennebec Performing Arts Co. Arbour was editor and sound designer for a behind-the-scenes documentary of a film that was made in Winthrop.

He plans to attend Ithaca College in New York in the fall, majoring in acting.

Arbour and Principal Karen Criss will attend an MPA Honors Luncheon in Bangor on  April 2.
