LITCHFIELD — Member of the Burnt Meadow Chapter, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, have announced the 2010 Good Citizenship Medal recipient from Oak Hill High School.
Gwenyth Fraser is this year’s medal recipient. She is the daughter of Sheri and Paul Fraser.
A sophomore, Fraser values, participates in and advocates the arts in her school and community. She has been a featured speaker at the annual Hall of Flags Day presentations at the State House in 2008 and 2009; she serves as a student representative on the board of directors for the Maine Alliance for the Arts in Education and is a member of the Maine Arts Commission Education Committee.
Fraser also presented to Maine’s Legislative Education Committee and testified at a legislative hearing on behalf of art programs in schools. She is an active participant in the OHHS Drama Club and Open Book Players of Gardiner and has worked with the Monmouth Community Players.
She plays harmonica, guitar, drum-set and piano and is a member of OHHS’s Jazz Band and Concert Band ensembles. She was chosen for Oak Hill’s choir, Voices of Color.
Fraser plans to pursue a career in the fine arts and enjoys playing pick-up hockey on the weekends.
