Hogan fundraiser
LEWISTON — A fundraiser for the Hogan family will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, at Fast Breaks. The bands Veggies, Skosh, Doctor Fat Finger and Evolution will perform. A buffet will be served.
Donation is $10, with all proceeds going to the Hogans of Lisbon Falls who lost family members and their house in a fire.

LISBON — A workshop on volunteering in the community will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at Lisbon Adult Ed.

Colon Health
LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free presentation on the rarely discussed, but very important organ: the colon. “The Colon Connection: How to increase your colon health and prevent cancer” will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at Auburn Public Library.
Colon cancer is the second leading cause of death for men and women in Maine. Gastroenterologist Oswaldo Bisbal, M.D., will discuss the importance of screening and ways to reduce risk. Preregistration is required and light refreshments will be served.

WINTHROP — A community blood drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at St. Francis Xavier Parish Hall on Route 133.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Monday, March 14 were as follows.
1st: Les Buzzell and Mike True; 2nd: Helen Little and Rosemarie Goodwin; 3rd: Cynthia Bonsey and Sue Kaluzynski.
Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. and every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Schooner Estates, 200 Stetson Road, Auburn. A partner is guaranteed at all games. Call Rosemarie at 754-1430 for information about all duplicate bridge games in the area.
