- Mareika Phillips, an art student at Bates College, works on her senior thesis project in the studio on Thursday. Phillips is working on a series of black-and-white oil paintings for the Senior Exhibit on April 8 at the Bates College Museum of Art. Phillips said she wanted to challenge herself on the project by limiting it to a monochrome pallet.
