MEXICO — A collision Thursday morning on River Road damaged a chain-link fence and two vehicles.
Drivers Jacques Pellerin, 55, of Byron and Rebecca Morton, 45, of Peru were not hurt, Mexico police Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said.
Both drivers were traveling east when Pellerin attempted to turn right into Dupuis’ Towing and Salvage and Morton failed to see Pellerin’s van and tried to turn into the right lane.
Her sedan hit the slippery shoulder of the road, descended down a snowbank then back up to the road where it was hit by Pellerin’s van. Both vehicles then struck Dupuis’ chain-link fence, causing about $4,000 damage.
Morton’s 1996 Chevrolet sedan sustained $2,500 damage; Pellerin’s 1992 Dodge, about $4,000 damage.
