DAR meeting

LEEDS — Mary Dillingham Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at Pike’s Oasis. Willoughby Wight will be the guest speaker.

Any woman over the age of 18 is eligible to join DAR if they can prove a direct blood line to a Revolutionary era patriot. DAR has genealogists available to help with research and documentation. The organization is one of the oldest service organizations in existence, focusing on patriotism, education and historic preservation. For more information, call Bev Robbins at 577-0706.

Treat Memorial Library

LIVERMORE FALLS — At 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, Morgan Knowlton, age 12 of Auburn, will demonstrate origami, the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, at Treat Memorial Library. There will be refreshments and door prizes.

Father-daughter dances

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will hold two simultaneous father-daughter dances from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 12. One dance will be held at the Jay High School cafeteria and another dance will be held at Phillips Elementary School.

Advanced tickets can be purchased at the Calico Patch in Farmington, The Flower Barn or the Riverside Kwik Stop in Jay, Edmunds in Phillips, The White Elephant in Strong or Tranten’s Market in Kingfield or Farmington. One ticket covers both father and his daughter(s). Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
