FARMINGTON — Amelia came to the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a stray and seemed a little timid at first, said staff, and now she is just the happiest little girl.
They said she is a little nosey at times, always having to be the center of attention and needing to know what everyone is doing. She would be the perfect companion for a high energy household with kids and other animals that love to play as much as she does.
New dogs at the shelter include a schnauzer mix from Jay, black lab mix from Starks, dobe/rotti mix puppy from Starks, black lab mix from Wilton and American bulldog from Livermore Falls.
The shelter will host a “Dogs and Duct Tape”event from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 19. The shelter will supply the materials to make a duct tape creation and participants will supply the creativity.
The winner (or winning team) will receive a flip Blackberry. Other prizes will include an overnight motel stay and a $100 bowling gift certificate. Hot dogs and other light refreshments will be for sale. Cost is $6 for individuals/$20 for a team of four.
