MINOT — First-time office seeker Scott Tiner was elected to a three-year term on the RSU 16 School Committee on Friday with 42 votes.

He defeated incumbent Annette Hemond-Annance, who received 24.

Running unopposed for her fifth three-year term on the Board of Selectmen, Eda Tripp received 50 votes.

A total of 63 residents cast their ballots, according to Town Clerk Angeliec Goulding, who characterized the turnout as extremely light.

Townspeople will convene Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Minot Consolidated School for the business portion of the annual town meeting.
