NEW GLOUCESTER — An Auburn man and a New Gloucester man are being treated for serious injuries after a head-on crash on Route 100 in New Gloucester Wednesday morning.

According to Maine State Police, the two drivers, Joshua Campbell, 29, of Auburn, and Keith Rogers, 42, of New Gloucester, are being treated at Central Maine Medical Center. Although both men suffered serious internal injuries, both are expected to recover, according to a press release.

Both drivers were alone in their vehicles.

The crash took place at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday morning when Campbell’s pickup truck veered into the opposite lane and struck the second pickup head-on. The crash was on a straight stretch of Route 100 near Morse Road, according to the press release.

The road was shut down for about an hour and a half.

Speed was not a factor in the crash, according to Maine State Police Trooper Chris Farley.
