LEWISTON— A  man trying to get a pizza delivered Tuesday night ended up with the police on his doorstep instead, police Sgt. Danny LaChance said.

The man thought he was calling Little Caesars but actually dialed 911, sending police to his residence just before 9 p.m., LaChance said.

When asked how 911 could be mistaken for a pizza joint, LaChance said some calls to the emergency line are too ridiculous to believe.
