LIVERMORE FALLS — A joint meeting between the Jay School Committee and RSU 36 Board of Directors is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 17.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Livermore Falls High School.
The boards will officially appoint a Transition Committee to work on combining the two systems. The boards will also set a date for an election of members to a new board to oversee the consolidated school system.
Signed up for the Transition Committee are Jay Selectman Tom Goding, Livermore Selectperson John Wakefield, Livermore Falls Selectman Jim Collins, Jay School Committee Chairwoman Mary Redmond-Luce and RSU 36 Chairman Ashley O’Brien.
They will be the voting members on the committee.
Nonvoting members are Livermore Falls Superintendent Sue Pratt, Jay Superintendent Bob Wall and Jay school Business Manager Stacie Lowe.
The two school panels will also elect an interim secretary. Both Wall and Pratt may both share that position as joint secretaries.
