Minot Consolidated School fifth-grader Tate Ray helps administrative assistant Sue Hussey box food the students brought in to help fill holiday baskets for townsfolk. Students in Judy Rowe’s class, learning that the town office’s supply of canned goods to fill holiday baskets was low, thought something ought to be done to help. On the Friday before Christmas vacation, Rowe andHussey sent a notice home asking for donations. The students hoped to gather at least 204 cans, one for each student in the school, and delivered excess of 300 cans and boxes to Eda Tripp at the town office.
