DIXFIELD — A selectman is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court in February to answer charges of domestic assault and criminal threatening.
Stephen Donahue, 56, of Shady Brook Lane, was arrested at his home at 8 a.m. Thursday by police Sgt. Jeff Howe.
Donahue was taken to the Dixfield Police Department where he was released on $600 unsecured bail. He is prohibited from having any contact with the victim, and must not use or possess alcoholic beverages.
He has a Feb. 8 court date.
Donahue, a paper mill employee, has served on the Board of Selectmen for about two years. He had also held a selectmen’s seat several years ago.
