Coach: Calvin Hunter (first year)

Last year’s record: Eighth in Class A, second in KVAC

Returning letter winners: Seniors — Nicole Larue (dash, hurdles, 200), Abby Hart (400, 800, mile), Bri Robbins (shot put, triple jump, hurdles), Anna Brooks (sprints, throws); Sophomores — Ayumi Ranucci, Haley Laflamme, Crystal Labonte.

Key losses — Ashten Hackett (triple jump, hurdles), Katherine Harmon (shot put), Chyla Hiott (long jump, triple jump)

Promising newcomers: Seniors —Hali Henry, Katie Delorme, Emily Grund, Kelsey Letourneau; Junior — Jacklyn Masters.

Outlook: Hunter, an assistant to Rebecca Hefty last year, swaps places with the former head coach and inherits a young but promising team with a lot of raw talent. Masters and Henry are outdoor track veterans moving over from basketball, while Grund, an all-conference soccer player, and Delorme are expected to contribute despite their lack of experience. They should be stronger in the distance events than last year

Coach’s comment: “I think it’s going to be a surprising year for us because we have some really strong new athletes to the sport.” — Coach Calvin Hunter
