100 years ago,1910

After nearly a week of stormy weather the skies cleared for the sole purpose that the Knoheinit Klub might hold its second annual dancing party in Odd Fellows Hall on Pleasant Street Friday evening, and in return for this favor the club girls gave one of the most pleasing parties held in that hall this year. The dance was very well attended and began early in the evening.

50 years ago, 1960

Ernie Cobb and Jerry Coffin will open a new Auburn firm, the Audio Supply Co., at 103 Minot Ave. today. The company will sell stereophonic consoles, portable record players and long-playing records. The two men have operated the Audio Service Co. for seven years. The firm supplies rental sound equipment.

25 years ago, 1985

A Topsham engineering firm was awarded a $50,500 contract Monday for engineering and consulting services to improve Lewiston’s Lake Auburn chemical feed facility.

Wright-Pierce Architects and Engineers will provide the expertise necessary for the city to improve the existing chemical feed building. In addition, Wright-Pierce will provide a consultant on an hourly basis during the bid and construction phases of the project.
