LIVERMORE — Selectpersons voted to renew a liquor license and grant a special amusement permit for the Carriage House Cafe, Town Administrator Kurt Schaub said Wednesday.

The board made its decision Tuesday.

It is the first permit to be granted under the town’s Special Amusement Ordinance voters overwhelmingly approved in June. The owner of the restaurant, Michael Weaver, voiced his concerns during the annual town meeting that the ordinance would put him out of business.

The business is under new management.

Under the special amusement permit, the restaurant will be allowed to have live bands and dancing two nights per month, either on a Friday or Saturday, indoors with the windows closed, Schaub said.
