LIVERMORE FALLS – Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments, in conjunction with the town, will hold a public hearing Tuesday on the environmental assessment of Hillside Development property at 109 Main St.

The hearing on the more than 100-year-old property, owned by Gregg Richards of Livermore Falls, is at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 16, at the town office. Richards was not immediately available for comment on Monday. Major renovation work has been done on the vacant property over recent years.

Campbell Environmental Group, environmental consultants, of Falmouth, will discuss their findings and provide an opportunity for people to express their views regarding the assessment, AVCOG representative Janet Cummings said Monday.

The assessment is to determine if there are any potential environmental concerns that may need to be addressed before redevelopment, Cummings said.

Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments received a $200,000 federal grant in 2008 to conduct environmental assessments on sites throughout Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties.

For more information, people may contact Cummings at the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments 207-783-9186.
