GREENWOOD, Maine (AP) — Former three-time alpine Olympian Julie Parisien is joining Mount Abram ski resort this winter to promote high school and middle school ski racing.

Parisien got her skiing start at Lost Valley at age 2, and went on to win three World Cup titles. She narrowly missed an Olympic medal, placing fourth in slalom and fifth in giant slalom at Albertville in 1992.

Head Coach Tim LaVallee will be returning to the mountain to work with Parisien, his former student, to create the race development program. The 40-day program kicks off Dec. 4. It’s being called “Le Club de Sport LaVallee/Parisien.”
