LISBON — Police said Monday that they are continuing to investigate a sexual assault reported Oct. 11.
The assault report came in at 5:15 p.m. Officer Jeffrey Williams said the 19-year-old female victim was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
Detective Bernard McAlister said Monday that a suspect has been questioned and material related to the case has been taken to the Maine State Police lab for analysis. He declined to release additional details.
The incident was the last of several that kept police busy throughout the Columbus Day weekend. On Oct. 8, officer Jason St. Pierre pulled over a speeding car on Route 196 near Food City Plaza. David S. Rivard, 23, of Auburn was arrested on charges of operating under the influence and violating conditions of release, police said.
A drug-sniffing dog alerted St. Pierre to two containers in Rivard’s car that held four digital scales, two bags of marijuana, two bags of cocaine and eight baggies of crack/cocaine and prescription drugs. Also in the vehicle was an unloaded Romanian 7.6 millimeter assault rifle with two clips, police said. Rivard was charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs and three counts of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has been asked to trace the assault rifle. Rivard was taken to the Androscoggin County jail and his probation officer was contacted.
On Oct. 9, Sgt. Scott Stewart responded to a disturbance complaint on Sabattus Creek Drive and found Paul A. Blouin, 43, of Lewiston intoxicated. He was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of a scheduled drug and his probation officer was contacted.
Also that day, officer Ryan McGee responded to a disturbance call on Franklin Street and charged Joseph A. Jones, 38, of Franklin Street with violating conditions of release. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Department. McGee issued a summons to Julie A. Spaulding, 37, of Spring Street, on a charge of criminal trespassing.
On Oct. 10, officer Shawn Kelly arrested James Fish, 21, of Lisbon Falls, on a charge of operating under the influence after his car hit a utility pole. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Department where he was later released on bail.
That night, McGee responded to the High Street area to investigate a report of three males going in and out of driveways checking cars. McGee located juveniles from Lisbon Falls at Main and High streets. A 17-year-old was issued a summons charging sale and use of drug paraphernalia; a 16-year-old received a summons charging illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, and a third got a summons charging possession of alcohol by a minor.
On Oct. 11, Kelly responded to a call from a pedestrian on Summer Street who found a wallet on the ground. It was later identified as belonging to a resident on Summer Street whose car had been entered and the wallet taken.
McGee investigated and charged the 17-year-old, who was involved in the complaint the night before, with burglary from a motorized vehicle and theft, and the 16-year-old from that same incident with theft.
