LEWISTON — Autopsy results were released Tuesday on the bodies of two local men who died after fighting outside a Blake Street apartment early Saturday morning.

The state Medical Examiner’s Office reported that Alfred Jermaine Kelly, 29, died of a single stab wound to the chest. The man he was fighting, Bobbie Lee Evans, 32, died of multiple stab wounds.

Kelly was stabbed with a folding pocket knife and Evans with a kitchen knife, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine State Police.

The two men reportedly argued at a local club in the early morning hours. The altercation later spilled over to Evans’ apartment on Blake Street. The two stabbed each other around 1:30 a.m., and each died within minutes. One man was taken to Central Maine Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead; the other died at the scene.

McCausland said the knives were being analyzed at the state crime lab in Augusta.
