LIVERMORE FALLS – A local man is accused of providing alcohol to a juvenile at the town’s recreation field, after a parent reported the incident to police Sept. 4.
Sgt. Joseph Sage issued a summons to Richard Adams, 21, of Livermore Falls on Wednesday on a misdemeanor charge of furnishing liquor to a minor, Livermore Falls police Lt. Thomas Gould said Friday. A conviction on the charge carries a sentence of up to 364 days in jail.
Sage began an investigation after he received a report from a man that said his underage daughter was given alcohol at the recreation field off Foundry Road, Gould said.
Sage spoke to the girl, who was heavily intoxicated and had sustained some minor injuries from a fall, he said.
Police interviewed witnesses and Sage and his brother, officer Adam Sage, located an area off the Foundry Road where the incident took place. The officers located evidence including a receipt for the purchase of the alcohol as well as the empty containers, Gould said.
Adams is scheduled to appear in Lewiston District Court on Nov. 10.
