READFIELD — Senior back Jordan D. Couture rushed for 123 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Jay to a 25-8 victory over Maranacook in a Class C football game Friday.

Jay opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 25-yard fumble return by Andrew Stearns. Couture put the Tigers up 13-0 at the half with a second quarter 14-yard run. Couture’s second score of the evening came on a 20-yard run for the lone score in the third quarter.

Luke Emery put the Black Bears (0-2) on the board in the fourth quarter with a 7-yard run, while Jack Kennedy added the two-point conversion. Leading 19-8, Bill Calden added the final score on an 11-yard run.

Calden finished with 79-yards on the ground for the Tigers (2-0).
