Board: Turner Selectmen
Met: Tuesday night
New sidewalks, Part I
Issue: The town is going its first winter with new sidewalks in Turner Center, from Lower Street to the intersection of Route 117 and North Parish Road.
The scoop: Public Works is letting residents know that they’ll plow and maintain the 1,000 feet of new walks once it snows.
New sidewalks, Part II
Issue: With those new sidewalks, street parking in the area has become cramped.
The scoop: Dale Talbot owns a vacant lot next to the Old Town House in Turner Center. He’s offering the lot to the public for overflow parking.
Up next: The town has agreed to mow it and add signs.
Board openings
Issue: The Planning Board has one vacancy; the Zoning Board of Appeals, two.
The scoop: Selectmen are asking residents interested in serving on either to fill out an application at the Town Office.
Up next: They’d like to fill those seats at the next selectmen meeting Sept. 20.
