Coach: Jon Blaisdell (first year)
Last year’s record: 8-5-2, lost in Western B quarterfinal
Returning letter winners: Seniors —Beth Moore (MF), Alannah White (MF), Britni Hutchinson (F), Katie Beaulieu (G); Junior — Alexi Deering (F); Sophomores — Emily Acritelli (FB), Lindsey Allen (FB), Casidee Couture (F), Alison Chicoine-Bates (FB).
Key losses: Jennica Turner (MF), Kristen Delavan (F).
Promising newcomers: Junior — Samantha Hutchinson (F); Sophomore — Natashia Couture (FB); Freshmen — Brianna Martin (MF), Brittany Carrier (F).
Outlook: Jay is no longer a combinded team with Livermore Falls. Blaisdell has just 17 players but has nine regulars back from a year ago, including Deering, the team’s top scorer. There’s experience in the midfield and on defense as well, making Jay a solid threat in the MVC again.
Coach’s comment:
“The outlook is surprisingly good. I have really good senior leadereship. Our top goal scorer is only a junior, and the new girls are filling the holes fairly well. Summer soccer went well. We played much more than in the past, and I am seeing the benefits of that already. The team looks better now than it did at the same time last year. If we keep working hard, we will be competitive again this year.” — Coach Jon Blaisdell
