GRAY, Maine (AP) — Temperatures have reached 90 degrees across most of Maine for the third straight day.
The National Weather Service says the mercury topped 90 degrees Tuesday in Portland, Bangor and Caribou — marking the third day in row of extreme heat.
Butch Roberts of the National Weather Service says the last time temperatures hit 90 for three consecutive days in Portland was July 16-18, 1999.
Forecasters say temperatures could reach back into the 90s on Wednesday and again on Thursday before cooler weather arrives.
