BANGOR, Maine (AP) — A conservative think tank has unveiled an updated education Web site to include test score and graduation rate data for every school district in Maine.
The Maine Heritage Policy Center created its education website, GreatSchoolsForME.org, earlier this year. The site is intended to show spending and performance data for every Maine school and district, but it appears that there are some discrepancies in the data.
The Bangor Daily News has reported that there are several discrepancies in the site’s data from the State’s Web site for graduation data. According to the BDN, the center’s Director of Education Stephen Bowen acknowledged the mistake and said that, “Obviously, we should have double-checked it before we went live with it.”
The center’s Stephen Bowen says the new data being added includes standardized test score data for every Maine school district, graduation rate data for every high school, and tools to compare schools and districts to each other.
