I am not sure how much longer Maine officials are going to sit back and let people get in accidents and die on Route 4 between Auburn and Livermore.

People drive much too fast in that area and nothing is ever done about it.

I try to avoid that route as much as I can because of people who seem to think they own the road. I never see police going up and down Route 4, and that is a joke. What are Maine officials or the cities waiting for? A huge pile-up that will kill or injure many people?

Even in the winter, that road is awful; it seems like it’s the last road in the town to get attention. This past winter, a good friend of mine almost lost her life due to the road conditions. I feel that is unacceptable and there is no need for it.

Money is spent fixing the flowers on the sides of the roads or for sweeping when something else should be done.

I have a little girl now and I live in the SAD 52 district. When my daughter gets older, I’m going to fear for her life every time she needs to take that road to visit a friend or go in town.

People should not have to wonder if their children are going to make it down Route 4 OK.

I’m outraged at how that road can be passed by, year after year. There is no need for it.
