WATERFORD — Four summer breakfasts will be held again this year at the Wilkins Community House, located on Plummer Hill Road just off the Village Green.
This year’s breakfasts will be held from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, July 5, and Wednesdays, July 14, 28 and Aug. 11. The cost of each breakfast is $6 for adults and $3 for children. A favorite tradition of more than 50 years, the Wilkins House breakfasts are particularly well-known for their freshly baked muffins but also feature an extensive menu of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, donuts, coffee, tea and orange juice.
While the breakfasts are happening upstairs, the basement of the Wilkins House will be the site of an indoor yard sale from 7:30 to 11 a.m. on each of the breakfast dates. Bargain hunters will find treasures galore, with new items appearing at each sale.
The proceeds from the breakfasts and the yard sales go to a Building Improvement Fund to help care for the Wilkins Community House. The building is available for community and private events by calling 583-4673.
Volunteer workers are always welcome at the breakfasts. Interested volunteers should call 583-2729.
