November 28 NORWAY: A sale of beautiful Christmas wreaths from 10 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church, 205 Main St. The public is invited to purchase brightly decorated evergreen wreaths, by Sue Goulet. November 28 OXFORD: The 33rd annual Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, starts at 2 p.m., is billed as “The Largest Christmas Parade in the State of Maine,” and is made possible by corporate sponsor Dunkin’ Donuts of the Oxford Hills. The lead unit will be the Marine Corps color guard from Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines, Topsham. Other units in the parade are the Chamber’s Community Service award winner Dr. Mark Eastman, Wreaths across America, the Patriot Riders, local marching bands, scout troops, 13 confirmed beauty queen winners, equestrian units, and more! Santa Claus will take requests from children after the parade at the Norway Fire Station. Other events are planned within the community. The parade will be filmed by local TV station NPC-TV. December 2 NORWAY: The Norway Memorial Library will hold its third annual holiday gift-making workshop for children ages 7-12 from 3:15-4:45 p.m. Children will have the opportunity to make several gifts, as well as gift wrapping. All materials will be provided. Space is limited and pre-registration is required; sign up in the Children’s Dept. or call 743-5308.
December 2 NORWAY: The 27th annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will take place in front of Stephens Memorial Hospital at 5 p.m. Refreshments served. The festivities include Oxford Hills Chamber Singers. Buy a commemorative tree light in memory or in honor of special friends and loved ones.
