Dear Sun Spots: I would like to know why JC Penney does not have
any more Isotoner slippers and where could we find them? — Mrs. B.L., No
Town.

Answer: Sun Spots spoke with a representative at the JC Penney store in the Auburn Mall who noted that they still sell Isotoner slippers, but they’ve been moved to a different section of the store. You will find them in the lingerie section, near the nightgowns.

Dear Sun Spots: This is in response to the person who was looking
for western books like “White Squaw.” Two good places to look for books
like that are at Pa’s Trading Company and at the Book Nook in the
Undercover Mall. Both businesses are located on Route 26 in Oxford.
They both have tons of used books including a lot of westerns and the
price is reasonable, as low as $1. Hope this helps. — No Name, Mexico.

Dear Sun Spots: In response to Cecilia’s inquiry in the July 28 Sun
Spots about an embroidery group in the area, there is a great
embroidery group in the Lewiston/Auburn area. It is part of the
Southern Maine Chapter of the Embroiderer’s Guild of America. We meet
once a month on the second Tuesday and also participate in other
chapter, regional and national gatherings and educational opportunities
which feature many different kinds of needlework.

You may have seen our
recent exhibit “Stitches that Bind” at the Atrium Gallery at L/A College. If you are interested in learning
more about our group, please call Susan at 946-5342. — Susan Allison,
Greene.
