Dear Sun Spots: Can you tell me why the Children’s Miracle Network was
not on June 6 and 7? Could I have the address for the CW, channel 12;
ION, channel 21; and WPME, channel 3? Thank you. — A.L. Lewiston.
Answer: Sun Spots wonders if perhaps you are thinking of the broadcast, “A Celebration of Real Miracles,” produced by Children’s Miracle Network, which aired the previous weekend, May 29 to 31. Celebrity guest hosts on the telethon included John Schneider, Dr. Phil McGraw, Mary Hart and LeAnn Rimes, among others. Sun Spots could not locate a future time that the program wil rerun.
In response to your second question, contact the CW and WPME, sister stations, at 4 Ledgeview Drive, Westbrook, ME 04092 or call 774-0051. ION Television does not offer a contact address or phone number for viewers. To submit a question or comment to the station, visit the contact section of the Web site, www.iontelevision.com.

Dear Sun Spots: For Diane of Roxbury looking to turn artwork and/or photos into giant posters our company Sign*A*Rama would be happy to do that for her. We are located in the Taylor Brook Mall on Minot Avenue next to Ann’s Flower Shop and Sam’s. Depending on the quality of the file or picture, we can make it as large as you want it. We also laminate it or can put it on a banner for you. Please call us 777-7770. — Sign*A*Rama, Auburn.
Dear Sun Spots: SeniorsPlus has recently relocated the production kitchen for our nutrition programs (Meals on Wheels and Dining Sites) from Wilton to Lewiston. With the new move came new opportunities for volunteers in this area! We are looking for Kitchen Angels to assist our staff in preparing nutritious meals at our new facility. The kitchen is open Monday to Thursday, there are a variety of things that need to be done, and the time commitment is up to you!
Along with this move, we also changed the distribution site for Meals on Wheels from the Multi-Purpose Center to the new kitchen, located at 55 Alfred Plourde Parkway. We always have room for drivers who would like to commit to a route once per week or more, or be willing be an on-call substitute.
Finally, we’ve opened several new dining sites, and would enjoy having more volunteers participate in operating the sites a couple hours per week.
If any of these opportunities strike your fancy as a way to give back to your community, and support our older adults, please contact me for more information and details. Call 795-4010, ext. 3114 or 1-800-427-1241, ext. 3114.
Thanks again, and I hope the response is as warm and wonderful from Sun Spots readers as it usually is! — Trudy Hamilton, CVA, Manager of Volunteer Resources, SeniorsPlus.
