ORONO, Maine (AP) — Maine goalie Dave Wilson has been suspended from the team after being charged with domestic assault for allegedly attacking his former girlfriend in an Orono bar.

Police say the 21-year-old woman accused Wilson of grabbing her by the neck and pulling her back when she tried to walk away from the Bear Brew Pub on April 2.

Wilson was arrested the next day at his apartment after the woman filed the complaint. He was released that day and is scheduled to appear May 28 in Bangor District Court.

Wilson, a junior from Caledon East, Ontario, played in 14 games last season, recording 338 saves and posting a goals-against average of 2.82.
