WEST HARTFORD, CT – Danny Menendez belted three hits and knocked in three runs as Maine crushed Hartford 14-1 in the first game of a Sunday doubleheader.
Curt Smith went 2-for-4 including a home run and two RBI for the Black Bears. Matt McGraw and Mark Ostrander combined for four hits and five runs scored. Brad Hertzler scattered five hits over seven innings.
Myckie Lugbauer broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the sixth with a two-run blast giving Maine a 3-1 win in the second game. Greg Norton allowed just two hits and one walk for the Black Bears (22-23).
Cinelli knocked in the lone run for Hartford (13-32).
