There’s nothing more relaxing than an old-fashioned backyard barbecue, with friends and family gathered around the patio on a warm summer evening. This handsome and convenient BBQ cart is a great way for do-it-yourselfers to get the good stuff from the kitchen to the great outdoors.

On top, a removable serving tray is perfect for hauling the steaks and burgers from the fridge to the grill and on to the table. Down below, a fixed tray with an integral wine rack is just right for beverages, buns, beans and whatever else you need to make your barbecue a success.

Made entirely from readily available dimensional lumber (we used clear pine, but almost any lumber will work), the project is easy enough for most woodworkers. To build, simply trace the parts onto wood and cut out. Next, sand and assemble the pieces with glue, nails and screws. Finally, add your finish of choice and fire up the grill.

The BBQ cart measures about 41 inches long by 23 inches wide by 30 inches tall.
