PARIS – A Chinese/silent auction will be held to benefit Responsible Pet Care’s cat shelter on Route 118 in Norway. The auction will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Bidding will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Refreshments include hot dishes.

Norway cleanup

NORWAY – The Norway Business Association and the Downtown Revitalization Group are asking business owners and employees, service organizations and individuals to join forces with them to wash, sweep, rake, paint, prune and pick up the area of Norway. The two groups are building lists of target spots and volunteers. Starting time is planned for 8 a.m. Saturday, April 26. In order to participate, some businesses may not be open until 10 a.m. Target areas include the grounds and windows of empty businesses, common gardens and shrubbery and the Penn Stream. Special supper

NORWAY – An appreciation supper for Paul and Lucille Hodsdon will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Norway Fire Station. The menu will include pork with all the fixings, pies and beverages. Adults $7, children ages 6 to 12, $3.50, under 6 free. Sponsored by the Norway Fire, Oxford Fire, Oxford Rescue and Santa Visits Oxford.

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills March of Dimes will hold the 2003 WalkAmerica at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27, beginning at KeyBank in Norway.

The money raised supports March of Dimes’ research and programs to prevent premature births. The 6.2-mile course travels from KeyBank to Park then Nichols streets in South Paris, past Maine Machine Products Co. down High Street, South Paris, and back to KeyBank in Norway. Cemetery meeting

West Paris – The annual meeting of the Finnish Cemetery Association will be held 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Mission Congregational Church in West Paris. Reports will be given and election of officers will be held.

Jobs meeting

OXFORD – CCS Companies, a financial services organization beginning operations here June 1, will hold informational meetings for prospective employees from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the new Oxford Public Safety Building on Route 26.

Attendees will learn about the company’s history and job descriptions. Joanna Backman, training coordinator with Central Maine Technical College, will explain the pre-hire program she will be coordinating.
