PUTNAM, Conn. – Doris J. Reardon, 93, of 48 River St., Moosup, Conn., passed from this life Tuesday, April 8, to the glory of eternal life at Day-Kimball Hospital in Putnam, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lewiston, the daughter of Marie (Shackford) Hubbard and Don Carlos Hubbard, she was one of four children. Her two brothers, Donald and Flavius Hubbard predeceased her.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Patrick Reardon in 1933 and they enjoyed a long and special relationship. He passed to his reward in 1982.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her two children, Joseph P. Reardon Jr. of Manchester and Mary Ann Smith-Ridgway of Plainfield, Conn.; a sister, Esther Murphy of Auburn; her nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Atty. Paul M. Smith and wife, Leslie and children, Joshua, Katherine and Erin, Robert Smith and wife, Laurie and son, Jared, Elizabeth Smith Wilson and husband, James and children, Meghan, James and Jennifer, Joseph P. Smith and wife, Elaine and children,Jessica, Ashley and Kayla, Rev. Michael S. Smith, Maureen Smith Taylor and husband, Carl and children, Quinlan and Maeve, Patrick J. Smith and wife, Michelle, Joseph P. Reardon III and wife, Anita and Timothy J. Reardon; and several loving nieces and nephews.

She was Nana to all and had nicknames, Piffle and Sarge and was loved by many. A gifted artist, her beautiful oil paintings are are precious to her family. Her handmade afghans were special gifts to all her family. She was generous with her time, talent and her treasure.
