1934-2003
LEWISTON – Alice P. LaChance, 69, a resident of 538 Lewiston Junction Rd., died Friday evening at her home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Stillwater, Aug. 22, 1934, the daughter of Clyde and Geneva (Thurston) Miles. She attended Stillwater schools, and married her husband, Russell, June 16, 1951. It was at that time, she moved to Auburn and started a family raising six children.
She had a love for animals, and had a special friend, “Missy.” She was a devoted and loving mother who was a part of her children’s lives.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Stephen R., and his wife, Carol LaChance, of Auburn, Mr. Russell W. LaChance Jr., of Auburn; four daughters, Donna LaChance of Poland, Carol Dall, Debra Hendricks and Karen LaChance, all of Auburn; and one sister, Mrs. Evangeline Lizotte of Bangor. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Russell, who died Feb. 11, 1994; and one daughter, Sharon LaChance.
