AUBURN – Champions have been crowned in the second annual St. Dom’s Invitational Basketball Tournament held recently at the new high school.

Nine area junior high schools competed, including Holy Cross and St. Joseph’s of Lewiston; St. Augustine and St. Mary’s of Augusta; Minot Consolidated; Elm Street School of Mechanic Falls; Livermore Falls Middle School; Durham Elementary; and Tripp Middle of Turner.

Tripp dethroned defending champ St. Mary’s in the Girls Division, winning the title game 41-30. The consolation contest was won by the Lady Tigers of Durham.

In the Boys Divison, St. Mary’s successfully defended its title by defeating Tripp 45-29. The Lions of Livermore Falls prevailed in the consolation tilt.

Following were winners of the various contests: Girls Free Throw: Brittany Gurney, Tripp; Girls 3-Point, Hannah Beaulieu, St. Joseph’s; Boys Free Throw, Matt Tarrio, St. Mary’s; Boys 3-Point, Cam Angell, Tripp.

Lewiston Coed banquet

LEWISTON – Following are the times for the annual banquet, Sunday, March 16, in the Lewiston Rec Coed Youth Basketball League: Micro Division, 12 noon; Midget, 1:00; Junior, 2:00; Senior, 3:00. Parents are asked to bring snack foods such as chips, pretzels, brownies, cupcakes, cheese and crackers, etc. The recreation department will provide pizza, paper goods, soda and coffee.
