PARIS — The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office responded to 242 calls from June 29 to July 5. Among them were:

* At 10:34 a.m. July 5, Deputy Dani Welch was out of the area to investigate the report of a person driving a golf cart on Pequawket Trail (Route 113) in Brownfield. State police were in the area and alerted but cart and driver were not located.

* At 10:20 a.m. July 5, Cpl. George Cayer began investigating a reported assault by a male on two females at a pit party on Dow Brook Road in Peru. A suspect was identified and is currently being sought on charges including felony aggravated assault.

* At 5:49 a.m. July 5, Sgt. Tim Ontengco responded to the Hiram Dam parking lot off River Road for a reported car burglary in progress. The York County Sheriff’s Office also assisted. Suspects were gone before police arrived, but after investigating, they learned that 10 cars had been burglarized. The case remains under investigation.

* At 10:22 p.m. July 4, Sgt. Ontengco and Maine State Police Trooper Adam Fillebrown responded to an Evans Road address in Stoneham for a report of an intoxicated man and woman fighting in the road. The couple was found on Route 5 and were “extremely intoxicated. Ontengco said neither part admitted to fighting and no probable cause existed to make an arrest, so both were warned.

* At 9:27 p.m. July 4, a caller reported to Cayer that someone had stolen a solar powered light from his father’s gravesite at the cemetery on Route 108 in Peru. He wanted an extra patrol. Cayer said he checked “and the cemetery was full of lights and everything looked fine.”

* At 7:57 p.m. July 4, deputies responded to the area of Rowe Hill Road in Greenwood for a report of two off-road dirt bikes speeding down the road. Negative contact was made.

* At 6:45 p.m. July 4, Cpl. Cayer responded to a report that two youths were involved in criminal mischief on the “Fairy Trail” on Greenwoods Road near Pulsifer Road in Peru. Cayer said both youths had fireworks and one admitted to putting a firecracker in one of the houses.

* At 11:02 a.m. July 4, Sgt. Timothy Holland responded to a Benson Hill Road address in West Paris for a camp burglary. He said that it appeared that youths had cut the screen to a camp, taking a canoe to Moose Pond. The canoe was still on site and there is damage to the screens.

* At 8:22 a.m. July 4, Sgt. Holland responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 16 in Cupsuptic. It was a property-damage accident with no injury.

* At 7:49 a.m. July 4, Sgt. Holland responded to a report of an unresponsive woman in a parked car on Pleasant Street in Canton. On investigation, Holland said the woman told him she was tired, pulled over and parked and fell into a deep sleep. She was awakened and everything was fine.

* At 11:49 p.m. July 3, Deputy Chris Davis responded to a reported burglary at a Perkins Valley Road residence in Woodstock. The complainant said it happened while he was away that day. It is under investigation.

* At 5:26 p.m. July 3, Deputy Willie Nelson responded to a complaint about an ATV problem on East Shore Road in Peru. The complainant reported that two teenage girls were riding in a small red dune buggy type go-cart and racing up and down the road. They were last seen headed toward the old store and may have come from the camp area.

* At 10:04 p.m. July 2, Deputy Dani Welch responded to a sex crime complaint at a Canton residence. Welch said the complainant is reporting a sexual assault and child abuse from 1999 until 2004. The complainant and alleged victim live out of Maine. The case is under investigation.

* At 1 p.m. June 30, Deputy Andrew Whitney took a report of a burglary on two camps in Richardson Township on Richardson Lake. He said there “are some small leads being looked into.” The investigation is ongoing.
