1937 – 2015
LISBON FALLS — Daniel J. LeBlanc Jr., 78, of Lisbon Falls died Tuesday, Oct. 13, at his residence with his loving wife, Florence, children and grandchildren by his side.
He was born in Rumford on July 26, 1937, a son of Daniel and Mary (Votour) LeBlanc Sr., and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1956. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1968, including aboard the USS Coral Sea as an aircraft structural mechanic.
Dan was a master certified auto mechanic for many years and owned and operated Dan’s Auto Clinic on Route 9 in Sabattus until his retirement in 1999.
Dan was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon and a member of the Lisbon Falls VFW. He loved to play his guitar, and enjoyed bluegrass music and attending bluegrass festivals. He enjoyed his years in Zephyrhills, Fla., at the American Condominium Park.
Dan was married in Rumford, on April 4, 1959, to Florence “Flo” Pelletier of Lisbon Falls, who survives him. Other survivors include daughter, Kathleen Nancy Arndt and husband, Judson, of Lisbon Falls; son, Daniel J. LeBlanc III and companion, Penny Barrows, of Lisbon Falls; six grandchildren, Gregory, Michelle, Daniel IV, Justin, Joseph E. and Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Caitlyn; a brother, Herman LeBlanc and wife, Ruth Ann, of Canton; six sisters, Doris and Hazel Hodgkins of Roxbury, Shirley Arsenault and husband, Gerry, of Rumford, Suzanne Doyen and husband, Leo, of Auburn, Joanne Carver and husband, Harry, of Dixfield, and Mary LeBlanc of Portland; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Dorraine; sisters, Laura, Gladys, Yvonne and Geraldine; and brothers, Raymond, Clarence and Richard.
